Elizabeth M. Sarek, 88, of Avella, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington.

She was born May 25, 1924, in Lafferty, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary Graychalk Flasko.

Mrs. Sarek had lived in Avella for the past 83 years.

She attended Avella schools and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church-Byzantine Rite in Avella.

Mrs. Sarek enjoyed spending time in Colorado with her grandson and family.

On March 28, 1946, she married Frank Sarek, who died October 21, 2010.

Surviving Mrs. Sarek are a son, Frank J. (Linda) Sarek of Canon City, Colo.; a grandson, Jeff Sarek of Fort Collins, Colo.; and a brother, Dr. Albert (Agnes) Flasko of Wellsburg, W.Va.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brothers, John Flasko and Joseph Flasko Jr.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA, 15312, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, with the Rev. Edward Lucas officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Avella.
