Self-employed auto body repairman, mechanic
Charles F. Brown Sr., 76, of Holbrook, died unexpectedly at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, in his home.
He was born December 30, 1936, in Hundred, W.Va., a son of the late Albert Harold and Marie Elizabeth Kimble Brown.
Mr. Brown had resided in Richhill Township, Greene County, most of his life.
He enjoyed attending auctions, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Brown was a former employee of Squirrel Hill Nursery in Pittsburgh, the former Stewart Auto Sales in Waynesburg and the former Husky Garage in Wind Ridge.
He was self-employed for the past 35 years as an auto body repairman and mechanic.
Surviving are a son, Charles F. Brown Jr., husband of Karen Brown of Meyersdale; two daughters, Donna Lorraine Brown and Karen Sue Pettit, both of Franklin Township; five grandchildren, Larry and Shawna Pettit and Josh, Kayla and Jennifer Brown; three great-grandchildren, Neil, Noah and Avery Pettit; two brothers, Albert J., husband of Betty Brown, and Leonard, husband of Mary Brown, both of Jackson Township; and two sisters, Anna Marie, wife of William Black of Jackson Township and Rosalee “Sally,” wife of Robert Mitchell of New Freeport.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, with Pastor Kenneth Curfman officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Jackson Township.
