Retired West Greene School District teacher
Madeline Mary Ziefel, 76, of Graysville, died at 8 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, in Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md.
She was born Wednesday, October 28, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Charles Polachek and Lillian Tyson Polachek.
Mrs. Ziefel was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Waynesburg.
She was a graduate of Fairmont State College, Fairmont, W.Va.
Mrs. Ziefel was an elementary school teacher in West Greene School District, retiring in 2003.
Surviving are her husband, William H. Ziefel II, whom she married August 9, 1959.
Also surviving are a daughter, Nancee (Rick) West of Washington; two sons, William H. Ziefel III of Graysville and Dave F. (Cathy) Ziefel of Nineveh; five grandchildren, William H. “Willie” Ziefel, Robert West, Justin Ziefel, Christa Ziefel and Kevin Moore; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Richard Polachek.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L.
