Donald J. Parker Sr., 76, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in his home, with his family by his side.
He was born February 8, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William H. and Waltrude McGowan Parker.
Mr. Parker was a 1955 graduate of Carrick High School.
He spent most of his career in law enforcement and security, having worked with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mt. Lebanon Township Police Department, Peters Township Police Department, a Pennsylvania state constable for Jefferson Township and for the Pennsylvania regional assistant manager for Tri-Corps Security. Mr. Parker also spent 10 years traveling with his daughter, Julie, in support of anti-drug and alcohol campaigns in schools nationwide.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 91 Pittsburgh, Blue Knights and Patriots Motorcycle Organizations.
Surviving are five children, Julie Ann Williams of Wingo, Ky., Patricia Smith and husband Paul of Eighty Four, Constance Carlson of Brocton, N.Y., Susan Macurak of Bethel Park and Richard Croyle and wife Allysen of South Park; a daughter-in-law, Janice L. Parker of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren, Samuel Williams, Evan Williams, Stephanie Parker, Mark Parker, Rachel Parker, James Macurak, Matthew Macurak, Jonathan Macurak and Zachary Macurak; four siblings, William H. Parker III and wife Nan of Hartfield, Va., Jeanne C. Parker of Spring, Texas, Linda Johnson of Greensburg and Janice C. Underwood of Indiana; and his former wife, Janice Simmons Parker of Mayfield, Ky.
Deceased is a son, Donald J. Parker Jr.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, with the Rev. Rick Croyle officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
