Vietnam Era veteran

Edgar A. “Eddie” Garrison, 66, a disabled Vietnam Era veteran of Canonsburg, died Thursday, July 4, 2013.

For the past two years, he resided at H.J. Heinz Progressive Center in the Veterans Administration medical facility, Aspinwall.

Mr. Garrison was born January 7, 1947.

He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged after having served one tour of duty.

Mr. Garrison was affectionately know as “Eddie” by all of his friends and was respected and loved by all who cared for him throughout the years.

Prayers of Commendation will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, followed by a full military ceremony, accorded by the U.S. Marine Corps, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
