Navy vet, Accurate Forging retiree played Santa

Allen L. “Smith” Dulaney, 86, of Brave, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, in his home.

He was born July 4, 1927, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Furman Dulaney and Pansy Orndorff Dulaney.

Mr. Dulaney was retired from Accurate Forging Corp. in Brave, where he worked as an inspector packer.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Dulaney played Santa Claus for many years and greatly enjoyed going on his rounds in the area to provide Christmas joy to all of the children that he would visit.

He was a member of Spraggs United Methdoist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary E. DuBreuil Dulaney; three daughters and their spouses, Lou Moore of Brave, Becky and Richard Seaman of Brave and Ola Jean Dulaney of Moundsville, W.Va.; a sister, Margie Russell of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Angie Haught, Michael Moore, Jamie Sharp, Casey McCord and Melissa Barr; 11 great-grandchildren; and an ex-son-in-law, Norman Barr.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Martha Scritchfield and a sister who died as an infant; a son who died as an infant, Charles William Dulaney; and a son-in-law, Donald Moore.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m Saturday in Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, W.Va., where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14, with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Blacksville Cemetery.
