David Lee Bissett Sr., 58, of Bolivar, Tenn., formerly of Richeyville, and husband of Shelia Lynn Smith Bissett, departed this life Wednesday morning, July 10, 2013, in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Memphis, Tenn.

He was born October 26, 1954, in Waynesburg, a son of Hubert D. Bissett of Waynesburg and the late Mary Louise Tennant Bissett.

Mr. Bissett grew up in Richeyville and was a 1973 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School. Since then, he resided in the Memphis area and the last 11 years in the Bolivar community.

He was married July 20, 1983, to the former Shelia Lynn Smith, who survives.

Mr. Bissett served his country in the U.S. Navy, in earlier years, and was employed as a long-distance truck operator for TLC Express for 31 years before his recent retirement.

He was Christian and enjoyed fishing and watching sports.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 30 years and his father, are a daughter, Heather Lynn Herman (Billy) of Saulsbury, Tenn.; three sons, Cody Pierce Bissett (Kayla) of Bolivar, David Lee Bissett Jr. (Jessica) of Medon, Tenn., and Jim Earnest(Courtney) of Jackson, Tenn.; a sister, Pam Swain (Mike) of Tyrone, Ga.; a brother, Bobby Bissett (Kim) of Perryopolis; and three grandchildren, Dalton Bissett, Rylee Earnest and Kalin Earnest.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Centennial Cemetery General Fund, Centennial Cemetery Fund, c/o 109 Hedge Road, Jefferson, PA 15344 or charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be left at www.peeblesfuneralhome.com.
