Washington homemaker enjoyed caring for her pets
Arina “Irene” Mrenak, 67, of Washington, died Monday, July 15, 2013, in the Donnell House, Washington.
She was born September 25, 1945, in Bertha Mine, a daughter of Michael Daske and Helen Hoberek Daske, who are deceased.
Mrs. Mrenak was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her two pets, Dixie and ChiChi, and collecting birds of all types, having felt real birds to be the only species that could touch the face of Jesus. Her citizens band radio handle was “Village Queen,” for which she was well known.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Delinda) Mrenak of Avella and David Mrenak of Washington; two daughters, Victoria (Gary) Crouser of Washington and Josephine (Mark) Harden of Washington; a brother, Michael Daske of West Virginia; a sister, Kathryn (Chuck) Wright of Burgettstown; 13 grandchildren, Brandie Mrenak, Melissa Splitt, Joseph Masi, Ryan Yoders, Michael Mranek, Cara Mranek, David Frankie White, Jacob Mrenak, Nicholas Mrenak, James, Gary Jr., Kenneth and Christopher Crouser; and 13 great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Braiden Africa, Ariel Makinson, Isabella and Gabriella Splitt, Paige Randolph, Jayden and Maddix Hawk, Tina and Seren Masi, Landon Fries, Lily and Garrett Crouser.
Deceased are three sisters, Mary, and Anna “Annie” Daske and Dorothy Hart.
