Homemaker enjoyed floral gardening
Margaret Leora “Peg” Kohn, 74, of Washington, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, in her home.
She was born December 11, 1938, in Donegal, a daughter of the late William and Betty Baker Hoffer.
Mrs. Kohn was a homemaker who enjoyed floral gardening, painting ceramics, decorating her yard and going to yard sales.
She resided with her companion, Dennis Smodic, in Washington for the past 25 years.
Mrs. Kohn was Presbyterian.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph Thomas (Lisa) Kohn of Claysville, Jerry (Bobbette) Kohn of Washington and Jeff (Michelle) Kohn of Washington; a grandson, Sean (Kelly) Kohn, whom she raised; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Charlotte Garove of Meadow Lands, Karen Macheski of Florida, Jean Kastner of Donegal and Carol-Jean Lucciolla of Muse.
Deceased are are her husband, Jerry T. Kohn in 1986; a son, Jay Terry Kohn; a brother, William Hoffer; and two sisters, Faye Renfro and Jane Hall.
Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
