Mildred B. Henderson

Mildred B. “Tootie” Henderson, 89, of Washington, formerly of Clifton Road, died at 7:18 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, in her home, with her family by her side. She was called home to be with the Father.
She was born May 12, 1924, in Grafton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frederick Sevor and Thelma Louise Cahill Bunner.
Mrs. Henderson was a member of Church of Christ, where she was a Bible school teacher for more than 40 years. She was affiliated with the program L Duso’s friend in the Tuesday School Program.
She was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone for many years and was a member of the 10-year club. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Washington Hospital for many years. She formerly was employed as a cashier for Lang’s for more than 10 years, from where she retired.
Mrs. Henderson was a 1942 graduate of Washington High School.
She loved to golf, bowl, garden and play tennis.
Mrs. Henderson was a member of Lone Pine Golf Club, U.S. Marine Night Fighters Association, Nemacolin Bowling League and Weber Furniture Store Bowling League.
On May 12, 1946, she married Edward L. “Toehead” Henderson, who died February 23, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Mark A. (Rhonda) Henderson of Franklin, Tenn.; a daughter, Cynthia L. (Scott) Fowler of Washington; six brothers, Louis F. Bunner of Washington, Allan R. (Mary Ann) Bunner of Washington, Fred L. (Wanda) Bunner of Chesapeake, Va., Frank P. (Yolanda) Bunner of Tennessse, David R. Bunner of York and James H. (Betty) Bunner of Mt. Juliette, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; four grandchildren, Shane Fowler of Washington, Kristin (Ron) Crawford of Washington, Jared Henderson of Franklin and Jessica Henderson of Knoxville, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren; Alex, Aubry, Ashlyn, Addison and Alain Crawford.
Deceased are a son, Edward Charles Henderson, and a brother, Bernard F. Bunner.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Services will follow visitation at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. David Deagel officiating. Entombment will follow in the Washington Cemetery mausoleum.
