Former owner of Rocky’s Restaurant

Rocco Vulcano, 97, of Houston, died Monday, June 3, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor Nursing Home.

He was born December 8, 1915, in Independence Township, a son of the late Patsy and Mary Schefo Vulcano. His stepmother, Filomena Vulcano, also is deceased.

Surviving are a sister, Rosemary Vulcano of McMurray; a brother, Frank (Betty) Vulcano of Houston; a brother, Pat Vulcano of New Orleans, La.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Vulcano was a retired restaurant owner and operator of Rocky’s Restaurant in Houston, in which he operated for more than 40 years. Following his retirement from Rocky’s Restaurant, he co-owned and operated Exit 3 Greenhouse in Taylorstown.

Deceased are his wife, Margaret Massino Vulcano in 2000; a daughter, Carol Vulcano Payne; a sister, Theresa Zubert; a brother, Joseph Vulcano; and a brother, Jack Vulcano.

At the request of the family, arrangements are private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg. Arrangements are in the care of Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, Canonsburg. Condolences may be left at www.deangelofuneralhome.com.
