George A. Andrews
1943 – 2013
George Albert “Wheeze” Andrews, 69, of Joffre, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, June 7, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born November 21, 1943, in Canonsburg, a son of the late George and Olive Shaffer Andrews.
A 1962 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, he worked as a coal miner, mechanic and truck driver, and was a member of the Owls Club, Joffre.
Mr. Andrews was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1968.
His wife, Donna Littleton Andrews, whom he married September 20, 2001, survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Todd Andrews and wife Leah-Anne of Cecil and Cole and Bill Littleton of Joffre; a daughter, Melanie Mott of Southview; four grandchildren, Alexis Lee, Shaylee and Kylee Littleton and Michael Mott; a brother, Barry Andrews and wife Linda of Washington; a sister, Diana Mohler and husband Gary of Canonsburg; and his first wife, Barb Andrews of Southview.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11. Interment with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Army and Slovan and Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars/American Legion Honor Guard, will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
