Homemaker enjoyed time with grandchildren
Esther Irene Hassinger, 82, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in Country Meadows, Bridgeville.
She was born August 5, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of Albert and Grace McDonald Hatfield.
Mrs. Hassinger graduated from Trinity High School and was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, needlework, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of First Christian Church.
On June 20, 1954, she married Raymond De Hassinger, who died May 23, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Alan (Valerie) Hassinger of Washington; a daughter, Barbara (James) Benson of Canonsburg; a brother, James (Barb) Hatfield; two sisters, Marie (Dick) Naser and Evelyn McKahn; and four grandchildren, Nelson (Crystal) Hassinger, JoRae Hassinger, Bradley Benson and Justin Benson.
Deceased are a brother, Robert Hatfield, and a grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, with the Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 190 Bilmar Drive, #200, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
