Betty Lee Chasteen, 86, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born September 30, 1926, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Clarence and Bertha Boyce Sharp.

Mrs. Chasteen served in the U.S. Navy as a registered nurse from July 1948 to June 1949. She met her future husband, Otis, while both were serving at the naval hospital in Houston, Texas. After marriage, she left the service to become a Navy wife. She raised their two children and changed homes several times during the next 23 years before settling in Fort Worth.

She was known for her baking and cooking and shared her recipes with anyone who asked.

Mrs. Chasteen was a loving sister, aunt and friend to many and had a special place in her heart for children and animals.

Surviving are her husband, Otis; daughter Nancy Chasteen; son Vincent Chasteen and wife Gina and their son Clay; grandsons Ben Ehrich and Jared Chasteen and wife Adeana; great-grandsons Andrew and Noah; and sister Shirley Zedicker and husband Johnny of Eighty Four.
