Vietnam War veteran was avid Steelers fan
George Ronald Crosson, 71, of Waleska, Ga., passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, in Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, Ga.
He was born September 1, 1941, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Earl and Violet Deakin Crosson.
Mr. Crosson served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was a retired corporate pilot who spent his career working exclusively for gas and oil companies. He spent his last years working for Lake Arrowhead Security, where he was able to fulfill his need to interact and touch the lives of many people.
Mr. Crosson enjoyed motivational reading, watching TV and NASCAR and golf. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed spending free time with his family and his beloved dogs, Greta, Delilah and Alex. He dedicated his life to serving others through the AA program.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his loving wife of 23 years, Geraldine Rose Crosson; four daughters, Sheila Crosson (Kirk) of Tidioute, Stefany Cotter (Joe) of Vienna, Va., Connie Bennett (Clint) of Buckhannon, W.Va., and Christine Brown (Tim “Brownie”) of Alpharetta, Ga.; sister Charlotte Sroka (Charles) of Canonsburg; eight grandchildren of whom he was especially proud, Gavin Cotter, Colin Cotter, Derrick Lyons (Becky), Gerren Simms (Megan), Caitlyn Brown, Jeremy Brown, Jeffrey Brown and Carson Brown; several nieces and nephews; and close friend Nick Fosson.
In addition to his parents, deceased are brother Robert Crosson; granddaughter Carly Crosson; sister, Shirley Engel; and brother Richard Crosson.
Family and friends will be invited to celebrate Mr. Crosson’s life in Canonsburg at a later date. Details will follow on the Sosebee Funeral Home website noted below.
