Member of St. Francis Assisi Church

Blanche Lorraine Carter, 80, of Finleyville, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born October 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Charles and Blanche Supinsky.

Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and recently was employed at Sunshine Kids Day Care Center in Finleyville.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and South Park Historical Society, where she served as secretary.

Surviving are a son, George Carter Jr. of Finleyville; two daughters, Lesa and Valerie Carter, both of Finleyville; seven grandchildren, Tony, Zachary (Katelyn), Jessica, Katelyn, David, Gena and Reece; and a great-granddaughter, Sophie Bragg.

Deceased are her husband, George R. Carter Sr., who died in February 2000; two brothers, John and Joseph Supinsky; and three sisters, Josephine Kuskil, Catherine Dovrowolski and Elizabeth Dickmon.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in St. Francis Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert Boyle as celebrant. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
