Carmichaels resident was retired coal miner
John Huha, 88, of Carmichaels, died Friday, June 21, 2013, in his home.
Mr. Huha was born March 6, 1925, in Fredericktown, a son of the late George and Bertha Huha.
On December 8, 1950, he married Lois Cutlip, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Mark Huha (Diana) of Oceanside, Calif., and Sharon Thistlethwaite (Raymond) of Waynesburg; three grandchildren, Jessica Mooney (Dave), Raymond Thistlethwaite (Sharon) and Caleb Huha (Lauren); a great-granddaughter, Mikayla Thistlethwaite; three brothers, Paul Huha (Velma), Steve Huha and Joseph Huha (Janet); and two sisters, Irene Soojian and Rose Rodarte, all of the state of California.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a daughter, Stacy Huha, who died in infancy; three brothers, George Huha Jr., Charles Huha and Andrew Huha; and a sister, Margaret Huha.
Mr. Huha was an active member of Carmichaels Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 65 years. He served as an assembly overseer and elder.
He was a retired coal miner from Duquesne Light Co., Warwick Mine in Greensboro and a member of the UMWA.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, in Kingdom Hall, Carmichaels.
