Catherine R. Stanley, 89, of Canonsburg, died Monday, June 24, 2013, in Greenery Specialty Care Center of Canonsburg.
She was born October 6, 1923, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Robert and Laura Shaffer Stewart.
Mrs. Stanley was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Washington.
On October 19, 1962, she married William Stanley, who died March 18, 2003.
Surviving are a son, William Stanley (Debbie) of Upper St. Clair; two daughters, Nancy O’Bryan of Canonsburg and Ilene Brown of Washington; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind Nytro, her beloved “baby” dog.
Mrs. Stanley was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Ruth O’Rourke; a brother, Charles Stewart; two sisters, Flora Pitcock and Edna Binder; and three grandchildren, Joyce, Earl and George.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, in First Church of the Nazarene, Washington, with the Rev. Douglas Kearns officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the church.
