James W. “WAGGS” Wagner, 59, of Chartiers Township, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in his home.

He was born August 27, 1953, in Wilkinsburg, a son of William H. and Mary P. Byrns Wagner.

Mr. Wagner was a 1972 graduate of Richland High School.

He worked for Mayview State Hospital and was a member of Local Union 2049 AFSCME. Mr. Wagner was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved fishing and enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports teams.

On June 10, 1983, he married Virginia L. “Lucy” Lyons, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four brothers, Richard Wagner and David Wagner, both of Delaware, Steven Wagner (Joan) of West Virginia and Jerry Wagner of Arizona; a sister Debra Spiers (Thomas) of Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his loving dog, Maggie May.

Deceased is a sister, Jacquelyn O’Conner.

Family and friends will be received from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the time of service, Monday, July 1, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
