1921 – 2013

Julia Panella Yacoviello, 91, of Harmon Creek, Burgettstown, passed away surrounded by her loving family Friday morning, June 28, 2013.

She was born August 8, 1921, in Perrillo, Italy, a daughter of the late Angelo and Catherine Impronto Panella, and immigrated to the United States in 1930, when she was eight years old.

Mrs. Yacoviello retired from Burgettstown Area School District, where she was a head baker and cook at the high school.

Her husband, Patsy Yacoviello, whom she married April 16, 1941, died April 15, 2008.

She was an active member of Burgettstown Senior Citizens Center, where she and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels, and a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown, where she was a member of Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters associations. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving are four sons, Gerald P. Yacoviello and wife Scarlett of Burgettstown, Richard J. Yacoviello and wife Carla of Frankfort Springs, Michael A. Yacoviello and wife Paulette of Steubenville, Ohio, and John M. Yacoviello and wife Lisa of Weirton, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, Scott Yacoviello and wife Julie, Richard Yacoviello II and wife Angela, Heather Shaffer and husband Darren, Robert Yacoviello and wife Sarah, Daniel Yacoviello and wife Judy, Jason, Jonathan, Joshua, Mario and Marc Yacoviello; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Panella Crisi of Aliquippa and Margaret Cassiadoro of Weirton; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two brothers, Nick and Armand Panella.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. George Moneck, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.
