Artist and crafter loved animals
Barbara Mae Hall Shearer, 67, of West Alexander, died peacefully at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 11, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William Preston Hall and Ruth A. Anderson Hall, formerly of Bradenton, Fla.
Mrs. Shearer was a graduate of Peabody High School.
She was young at heart and loved animals and bingo. She also loved to take long drives, was a fantastic artist and an avid crafter. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family.
Surviving are her loving husband of 35 years, Harland L. Shearer; daughters Kim (Todd) Altemose of Stafford, Va., and Stacey Zurick (fiancé Jim Rowan) of Washington; son Jeffrey (Julie) Zurick; brother William Preston Hall Jr. of Coraopolis; sisters Kathyleen (Patrick) Brogan of Philadelphia and Beverly Snyder of Anna Maria Island, Fla.; four grandchildren, T.J. Altemose, Mike Altemose, John Altemose and Nicole Zurick.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Burial will be private.
