Paul Richard “Pauly” Vargo, 68, of Washington, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Washington Hospital, with his son, Jeffrey, by his side, holding his hand.

He was born April 11, 1945, a son of the late Paul and Mildred Vargo, formerly of Marianna.

The past three years, he was in the Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, where he received wonderful care by great people who became part of his family.

Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Vargo of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Jesse and twins Julia and Jayna Vargo; and a sister, Shirley Brookman of Washington, who cared after him for several years.

Mr. Vargo served in the U.S. Armed Forces. He was a member of Marianna Legion Post 744.

He loved to fish and garden. He also loved the Steelers and country music. He had a great love for Vargo family reunions.

“Pauly Boy” will be missed.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna. A guest book may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com.
