Wonderful cook enjoyed shopping

Alice V. Lutes, 98, of Monroeville, formerly of Mather, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in ManorCare of Monroeville.

She was born May 27, 1915, a daughter of the late George and Mary Miller McKinney.

Mrs. Lutes graduated from Jefferson High School.

On May 12, 1934, she married John M. Belford, who died December 23, 1957. On October 17, 1963, she married John H. Lutes, who died October 6, 2001.

She held various jobs in the area.

Mrs. Lutes was a member of Mather Christian Church and had attended First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg and Verona Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed shopping and was a wonderful cook.

Surviving are a daughter, Marilee B. Sabo (Jerry) of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters, Charlotte and Ruth Filby.

Deceased are two sons, Jack Belford and Randy Belford; a brother, Mendell McKinney; two sisters, Arlene King and Joan Vavrek; and two stepsons, Robert and James Lutes.

Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, with the Rev. John M. Poling officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 115 Deerfield Lane, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
