Former dietary worker enjoyed family, friends
Elsie Mary Stevenson, 87, of Midway, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, in her home.
She was born March 11, 1926, in Presto, a daughter of the late Anton and Katherine Cadez Hafner.
Mrs. Stevenson worked as a dietary worker in the former Woodville State Hospital for 18 years before retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Stevenson was a member of Mariners Sunday school class, Center Presbyterian Church, Midway.
She enjoyed baking and spending time with family and friends.
On February 5, 1949, she married James D. Stevenson, who died July 3, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Terry Lynn (Ed) Boris of Avella and Sherry Lou Stevenson of Bulger; two sons, James D. Stevenson Jr. of Midway and Gary Lee Stevenson of McDonald; two grandchildren, William and Cheri Boris; and three great-grandchildren, Tylar Stroop and Vincent and Dominic Boris.
Deceased are five sisters, Margaret Kaucic, Rose Rolley, Katie Subic, Hilda Balak and Mildred Green; and a brother, Anthony Subic.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, with the Rev. Brian Kilbert, pastor of Center Presbyterian Church, Midway, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
