Loretta Marie Kessler Hunsinger, 96, of Oakdale, North Fayette Township, passed away peacefully Friday, June 28, 2013, in Washington Commons, Bridgeville.
She was born March 4, 1917, in Sturgeon, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Fernanda Bouchon Kessler.
Mrs. Hunsinger was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Hunsinger for more than 60 years; loving mother of Robert M. (Carol) Hunsinger; cherished grandmother of Kara (Brian) Herbinko, Kristen (Kurt) Miller and Ryan (Seena) Hunsinger; dear great-grandmother of Bradley and Brook Hunsinger and Carson and Ginna Miller; and a sister of Melvin (Marje) Kessler. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her brothers, Norbert, Marcel and James Kessler; and a sister, Elizabeth Young.
She was known for her devotion to her family, as an avid fan of the Penguins, Steelers and Pirates, and for her cooking and pie making. She leaves a legacy of love.
Mrs. Hunsinger was a member of Oakdale United Presbyterian Church.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 5000 Noblestown Road, Oakdale, 724-693-2800, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, with the Rev. Mark Simonds officiating. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
