Anne C. Wright

Anne C. Wright, 87, of Salem, Ohio, formerly of Washington’s West End, died Monday, March 4, 2013, in Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Salem.

She was born August 6, 1925, in Fairfield, Ala., a daughter of Roy and Mary Ellen Quinlan Doupé.

Mrs. Wright was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Washington and Christian Mothers.

She was employed by Ball Glass Co. for 26 years, working as a glass packer. For nine of those years, she was treasurer of the credit union.

Mrs. Wright enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the 500 Card Club.

On December 9, 1943, she married Kenneth M. Wright, who died March 31, 1975.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Benjamin) Brown of Salem; a son, Kenneth R. (Connie) Wright of White House, Tenn; a sister, Mary Sitek of South Lyon, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are brothers Thomas Doupé and Joseph Doupé.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, and Douglas M. Jones, funeral director. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. Louis Pascazi as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
