Mary Alice Wydo, 84, of Footedale, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Hillside Manor, Uniontown.
She was born November 27, 1928, in Crucible, a daughter of the late Fred and Emma Schifko Olschesky.
Mrs. Wydo was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in New Salem.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Ann Wilson of Smithfield; a son, James Wydo of Crucible; three granddaughters, Stephanie Chester and fiance Mark Bartok, Brandi Streit and husband Ed and Jamie Childs and husband Dennis Sr.; nine great-grandchildren, Payton and Maci Chester, Ryan Christopher, Baylee Wydo, Nick and Noah Streit and Dennis Jr., Dylan and Emma Childs; brother Robert Olschesky of Wilmington, N.C.; sister-in-law and caregiver Marion Furlong of Balsinger; and sister-in-law Evelyn Baird of Uniontown.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are husband Steve Wydo; brother Leonard Olschesky; son-in-law Sylvester Wilson Jr.; and daughter-in-law Joyce Wydo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Dearth Funeral Home, New Salem, and until 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, when Parastas will be said in the funeral home followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in New Salem, with the Rev. Father Jerome G. Botsko officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.
A Panachida Service will be held Sunday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
