Guido D. Piccolomini, 90, of Cardale, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Uniontown Hospital.

He was born January 4, 1923, in Cardale, a son of the late Isadore and Pauline Valeri Piccolomini.

Mr. Piccolomini was a member of Church of the Madonna in Cardale.

He was co-owner of Piccolomini and Son grocery store in Cardale. He was retired from Kroger Foods.

Mr. Piccolomini was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Jessie Organt, and a brother, Louis Piccolomini.

Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Gena Basili Piccolomini; a daughter, Gloria Jean “Jeanne” Kindervater and husband Ronald of Waynesburg; grandchildren David Kindervater and wife Cindy; great-grandson Kyle; stepgreat-grandsons Leo and Eric Kindervater and wife Melissa; great-grandson Kohl; great-granddaughter Emma; and a sister, Vincenza Sabatine of Uniontown.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and until 9:30 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, March 19, in Robert T. Kish Funeral Home, 19 Legion Street, Republic, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Church of the Madonna, Cardale, with the Rev. William McGurik as celebrant. Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown. Military rites will be accorded by Hopwood Amvets Post 103.
