Sara M. Milligan

Sara M. Milligan, 93, of Washington, formerly of Westland, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Humbert Lane Personal Care Home, Washington.

She was born February 12, 1920, in Sturgeon, a daughter of the late Samuel and Alice Fenwick Milligan.

Mrs. Milligan lived most of her life in Westland and was Presbyterian.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for many years as office manager of the former Washington Grocers Association.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Milligan was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and playing the piano.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Alice M. (Mitchell) Wimert of Washington; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua and Emily Wimert; two brothers, Thomas R. Milligan of Washington and William T. Milligan of Texas; a son-in-law, Richard Herceg of Westland; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a daughter, Donna (Darlene) Herceg, who died October 26, 2011; a brother, Samuel Robert Milligan, who died March 11, 1993; and a husband, William Lewis, who died in action during World War II.
