Julius A. “Jook” Bartman, 84, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela.
He was born January 21, 1929, in Gallatin, a son of the late Julius T. and Anna Crnjar Bartman.
For 40 years, he and his wife, Stella, owned and operated Angelo’s Restaurant in Monongahela, where he loved to be with customers and friends and was famous for his delectable soups.
Mr. Bartman was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Transfiguration Church for 50 years. He was a life member of BPOE Lodge 455, where he played in its golf and euchre leagues.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He and his wife enjoyed trips to their mountain home for a time to relax and fish. He loved all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He especially looked forward to attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are five sons, Timothy Bartman and wife Denise, Terrence Bartman and wife Nancy, Robert Bartman and wife Cheri, David Bartman and wife Debra, all of Monongahela, and Ronald Bartman and wife Lisa of Finleyville; grandchildren Jodi Lin Hillman and husband Ken, Crystal Bartman and fiance Josh, Luke, Addy, Shanna, Jared, Jenna and Joe, Julia, Jillian, Alec and Chelsea Bartman and Eric and Shane Mele; great-grandchildren Alin Mor and Nolan Gray; brothers James Bartman of Fredericktown and Gerald Bartman and wife Carol of Ohio; sister Eleanor Kaczinsky of the state of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Stella Dicesore Bartman, who died November 17, 2011; a son, Randy Bartman; and a grandson, Jess Bartman.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in Transfiguration Church, Monongahela, with the Rev. William Terza as celebrant. Inurnment will be private in the Monongahela Cemetery.
