William P. Skarupa Sr.

William P. “Bill” Skarupa Sr., 79, of McDonald, died Friday, March 22, 2013.
He was born June 13, 1933, in Imperial, a son of Stephen Sr. and Cecelia Maga Skarupa.
Mr. Skarupa was a West Allegheny graduate and served in the U.S. Army.
He worked for J&L Steel in Aliquippa for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He also was a part-time McDonald policeman for 20 years.
Mr. Skarupa was a life member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On August 25, 1955, he married Mary Gensler, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William “Bill” (Judi) P. Skarupa Jr. of Oakdale; two daughters, Diane K. Barley of Pittsburgh and Patricia A. (Jon) Cable of McDonald; a brother, Stephen Skarupa Jr. of McDonald; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a sister, Velma Slota.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26.
