Gail Beeler, 85, of Washington, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

She was born March 10, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of the late Ross David and Etha Eleanor McNary Leonard.

Mrs. Beeler was a member of Friendship Community Church and was a former member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and taught Sunday school.

She was a 1946 graduate of East Washington High School.

Following high school, she was employed by F.W. Woolworth Co. and W.T. Grant Co.

Mrs. Beeler was highly active as a volunteer and enjoyed sporting events, musicals, square dancing and traveling with her husband.

On November 17, 1951, she married Edger Baker Beeler, who died July 13, 2008.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, Ralph McNary Leonard, and three sisters, Ruth Leonard Gardner, Helen Leonard Rush and Mary Leonard Wagner.

She will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, neighbor and friend who cared most about the needs of others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marie S. Bryner of Chartiers Township died Monday, May 6, 2013, in her home, with family by her side.

She was a daughter of the late Carl M. and Mary Elizabeth Denham Stewart.

Mrs. Bryner was a graduate of Chartiers High School and Penn Commercial.

Having once been a legal secretary, she spent the majority of her career as church administrator at First Baptist Church of Washington.

She was a longtime and very active member of First Baptist Church in Washington, Eastern Star and Martha V. Paul Chapter 404 in Washington. She volunteered with Faith In Action and at Washington County Health Center.

Mrs. Bryner loved her family and enjoyed puzzles, crafts, flower gardening and traveling, having visited all 50 states. She was also an avid golfer, having shot an ace.

On September 21, 1946, she married Edsel Bryner, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Cheryl McMillen (Jim) of Houston, Debbie Andy of Washington and Becky (Tim) Phinney of Kissimmee, Fla.; a brother, Eugene Stewart of Bastrop, Texas; four grandchildren, Angela Andy Kelley, Jason Andy (Audra), J.D. McMillen and Michael McMillen; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Kelley, Sabrina McMillen, Maverick Kelley, Anthony Andy, Arabella Andy, Lillian McMillen and Lindsay McMillen; two brothers-in-law, Harley McVay of Winterhaven, Fla., and Kenneth Bryner of Washington; a sister-in-law, Mary Stewart of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a great-grandchild, Audia Andy; a sister, Betty McVay; two brothers, John D. Stewart and James W. Stewart; and a son-in-law, Frank Andy Jr.

Thomas Lee Fulmer, 58, of Eighty Four, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 5, 2013, in his home.

He was born September 18, 1954, in Bethel Park, a son of the late Walter Thomas and Elva Lee Fulmer.

Mr. Fulmer was a graduate of Bethel Park High School.

After driving trucks and then working on the railroad as a brakeman, he was employed by the Port Authority of Allegheny County, where he redesigned the air conditioning units on all the PCC cars. He retired after 25 years of service.

He was a master mason and was a member of Bethel Lodge 761 F&AM and Moose Lodge 1625 in Cokeburg.

On February 1, 1987, he married Margaret E. Smith, who survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Linda Holtz; a niece, Loren Girman; a cousin, Carol Simmons of Bethel Park; and a second cousin, Jessie Simmons.

Mr. Fulmer had many friends and was a compassionate, sensitive man who would do anything for someone. He will be greatly missed by his friends, his family and, especially, his wife.

Frank T. “Buster” Galicic, 88, of Cecil, died Thursday, May 2, 2013.

He was born February 6, 1925, in Cuddy, a son of the late Frank J. and Amelia Kraus Galicic.

On August 11, 1951, he married Eileen Miller, who survives.

Mr. Galicic was a decorated veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Cecil American Legion, SNPJ Sygan 6 and McDonald-Cecil Senior Center.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Ron (Karen) Galicic of Rostraver Township, Dave (Kim) Galicic of Cecil and Lisa (Rich) Pustovrh of Cuddy; two grandchildren, Katie Galicic and Richie Pustovrh; four brothers, Joe (the late Doris) Galicic, Ray (Ida) Galicic, Bill (Rita) Galicic and Ed (Carolyn) Galicic; and four sisters-in-law, Naomi Sloka, Mamie Papeaka, Eva Tabone and Ruth Miller. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a son, Frank Louis Galicic.

Audrey Ruth Chipps Gregg, 84, of Washington, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in her home.

She was born January 4, 1929, a daughter of the late Clarence F. and Nannie Kelley Chipps.

Mrs. Gregg was a homemaker who enjoyed being active in support of those with special needs.

She was an artist widely known for her ceramics and the inclusion of ladybugs on the many items she gave as gifts.

On January 19, 1948, she married Clayton E. Gregg Jr., who died July 22, 2000.

Surviving are a daughter, Scherry L. Gregg of Washington; four grandchildren, Clayton E. Gregg IV, Stacey L. Gregg, Curtis Gregg Jr. and Amy Robertson; several great-grandchildren; and four special nieces, Melody DePretis, Bobbi Gregg, Jody VanVarenburg and Surri Mowl.

Deceased are two sons, Clayton E. Gregg III and Curtis R. Gregg; a grandson, Robert H. Gregg; and a brother, Clarence Chipps.

Jessica Marie Hilborn, 29, of Finleyville, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Cleveland (Ohio) Clinic, following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 9, 1983, in Washington. She was a daughter of Ed and Marijane “Janie” Daniels Miller of West Alexander and Frederick L. McConn of Fredericktown.

Mrs. Hilborn graduated from McGuffey High School and received her bachelor’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania in criminal justice.

She was a homemaker and mother. Her son was her life.

Mrs. Hilborn always made others feel special and loved. She enjoyed photography and scrapbooking.

On November 14, 2009, she married Benjamin Hilborn, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Keagan; two brothers, Jay McConn of Pittsburgh and Mike Miller of Claysville; two sisters, Nikki McConn of South Fayette and Megan Miller of West Alexander; four nephews, Jacob, Quentin, Marshall and Deacon; and three nieces, Skyelar, Elaina and Erin.

Ronald Lawrence Keirs, 60, of Washington, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Hazel Day’s Personal Care Home.

He was born November 4, 1952, in Washington, a son of Howard M. and Margaret Buchanan Keirs.

Mr. Keirs was a 1969 graduate of Trinity High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy October 10, 1972.

He worked as a laborer for Canonsburg Pottery and was a published poet.

Surviving are a daughter, Carissa Phillips (fiancé Joseph Miller Jr.) of Fairfield; a sister, Mona Wilson (Dick) of Washington; and two grandchildren, Cierra Phillips and Parker Miller.

Deceased is a brother, Robert Keirs.

Cathi M. Richards, 50, of Waynesburg, died at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, following a lengthy illness.

She was born September 1, 1962, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of Sandra K. Main Richards and the late Harry L. “Rich” Richards.

Miss Richards was a lifelong resident of Greene County.

She was Methodist. She enjoyed crafting, playing bingo and spending time with her friends at the Waynesburg House.

Surviving are a daughter, Misty and Dan Miller of Cameron, W.Va.; a son, Bryan and Heather Rizor of New Freeport; four grandchildren; two sisters, Peggie Richards of Vestaburg and Jeanie and Jeff Patton of Waynesburg; a brother, Richard Richards of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Mark D. Richards and Michael D. Richards.

Frances O. Salisbury, 74, of Waynesburg, died Monday, May 6, 2013, in her home.

She was born June 7, 1938, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank and Marie Allen Marris.

Mrs. Salisbury was a homemaker. She enjoyed working outside and animals, especially birds.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy (John) Luckett of Graysville; two stepsons, Billy and Jimmy Salisbury; two stepdaughters, Shirley Marlene Marquis and Joyce Walker; two sisters, Twila Moore and Shirley Moore, both of Washington; three grandchildren, Jodie Holland (Heather Stewart), Bendy Holland Jr. (Stephanie) and Jennifer Fisher; six grandchildren, Jessie Lynne Holland, Emily Fisher, Sarah Holland, Anthony Holland, Devin Stewart and Rodman Stewart; a niece, Sally Moore; and other nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, James Robert Salisbury; a sister, Wilda Durilla; and four brothers, Robert, Dewey, Joe and Grover Lee Holmes.

James D. Simmons Sr., 84, formerly of Cecil, died Monday, May 6, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

He was born May 23, 1928, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John Edward and Emma Estella White Simmons.

Mr. Simmons served in the U.S. Navy in 1946 as an apprentice seaman.

He grew up on Pittsburgh’s North Side and moved to Cecil in the 1960s.

Mr. Simmons was a member of Venice United Presbyterian Church and a 60-plus-year member of Monongahela Valley Lodge 461 F&AM.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

On November 27, 1946, he married Mary Elizabeth Fink, who passed away February 7, 2007. They were married for 60 years.

Mr. Simmons worked as a welder for McGraw Edison, Cooper industries in Canonsburg.

Surviving are a daughter, Cindy (Ronald) Adams, and a son, James Simmons Jr., both of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Heather (Mark) Schultz of Flemington, N.J., Darcy (Rick) McNelis of Missoula, Mont., and Tracy (Dan) Delisio of Ross Township; and five great-grandchildren, Elaina and Carson Delisio, Noah and Cameron McNelis and Ryan Schultz.

Deceased are four brothers, Robert, Edward, Jack and Billy Simmons, and two sisters, Jane Fisher and Helen Fritz.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, with Pastor Fred Soberg officiating.
