Anna Grace Yarusinsky
Anna Grace Yarusinsky, 86, of Humbert Lane Personal Care Home, South Strabane Township, formerly of Lone Pine, died Monday, May 6, 2013.
She was born June 17, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of Lucido and Stella Lucirn Aloia.
Mrs. Yarusinsky was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School.
She worked as a homemaker as well as at various other jobs throughout her life, including Ryngo Market on South Main Street, as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. in the 1950s, at Metro Glass Works in Washington, manager of All-Pro Chicken at the Washington Mall until it closed, at the Gee Bee cosmetic department in Washington, for Fox Grocery and at the kitchen department cafeteria at Bellmead Apartments.
On June 26, 1954, she married George M. Yarusinsky, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage before his death in 1987.
Mrs. Yarusinsky was a longtime member of Sts. Mary & Ann Catholic Church, St. Oliver Plunkett Parish of Marianna.
She was an avid bingo player, especially enjoying Marianna, Lone Pine and Cokeburg.
Mrs. Yarusinsky was a social member of the Croatian Club in Bentleyville and a Grange member. She loved to cook, bake and attend card parties.
Surviving are two sons, Michael G. and wife Mary Kay Yarusinsky of Canonsburg, Daniel L. and wife Joan Aloia of Columbus, Ohio; two granddaughters, Lauren Simmons and Toni Aloia; two grandsons, Matt and Kenny Aloia; two stepgrandsons, Joseph and Bryan Bossong; two sisters, Matilda “Tillie” Shawin of Washington, Nancy Jo Gray of Columbus; a brother, William B. Aloia of Columbus; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Virginia Lemley, and a brother, Domanic “Mickey” Aloia.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, with Chaplain Jim Schmitt officiating. Interment will follow in Sts. Mary and Ann Cemetery, Marianna. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. A guest book may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com.
