Helen Marcella Lockard, 88, of Claysville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
A daughter of the late Floyd and Edith Marie Frye Johns, she was born May 29, 1924, in Saltsburg.
Mrs. Lockard was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading books, doing word-search puzzles and watching game shows and wrestling on television.
Surviving are six children, Merle Alvin Johns of Washington, Floyd Maurice Lockard of Indiana, Arthur James Lockard Sr. and wife Nancy of Iselin, Evelyn Marcella Lockard Conner of West Mifflin, and Cheryl Jean Lockard and Norman Duane Lockard, both of Claysville; a brother, Charles Johns of Saltsburg; two sisters, Doris D. Miller of Florida and Norma Cochran of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband, Alfred Maurice Lockard; a grandchild; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, with Pastor Arnold Watts officiating. Interment will be held in Edgewood Cemetery. www.robinsonlytleinc.com
