Melva Milliken Lohr

Melva “Mae” Milliken Lohr, 76, of West Finley, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Mound View Health Care, Moundsville, W.Va.

She was born in Majorsville, W.Va., August 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Fogle and Beulah Bertha Mae Whiteman Milliken.

Mrs. Lohr was a member of Salem United Methodist Church until it closed and then became a member of Sand Hill (W.Va.) United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Moundsville, and a life member of the Parent Teachers Association.

She enjoyed spending time with family, baking and helping others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Milliken, and two sisters, Irma Jean Vorhes and Katherine Bowman.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Vance Lohr, whom she married on January 26, 1955; a daughter, Debra Sue (Danny) Dorsey of Dallas, W.Va.; a brother, Glen Milliken of Dallas; two sisters, Mary Ellen Leoni and Ginny Morgan, both of Follansbee, W.Va.; grandchildren Tammy (John) Huff, Carrie (Billy) Riggle, Vince (Alisha) Junkins and Ashley Dorsey, all of Dallas; and great-grandchildren Dalton, Tess, Brianna, Kieremy and George.

Also surviving are stepgrandchildren Connie (Jake) Bloom and Brandon Dorsey and stepgreat-grandchildren Nash and Harlen.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, W.Va., 304-242-2311, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, with Pastor Cindy Murphy officiating.
