Thomas C. George Jr.
Thomas C. “Tink” George Jr., 55, of Morgantown, Pa., formerly of Bentleyville, died Sunday, February 3, 2013, in Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster.
He was born November 27, 1957, in Monongahela, a son of the late Thomas C. George Sr. and Dolores Vonsik George of Bentleyville, who survives.
Mr. George was a 1975 graduate of Bentworth High School. In 1979, he graduated from Washington & Jefferson College, and he later received a master’s degree from Waynesburg University.
At the time of his death, he had been vice president of operations for American Independent Insurance Co. for 14 years.
He was a 13-year member of First Baptist Church of St. Peters, where he served as a trustee. He was a member of Mt. Pickering F&AM Lodge 446, where he served as worshipful master in 2012. Since 2001, he had been a member of Reading Country Club.
In addition to his love of golf, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed attending their games.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joyce Ann Freeman George, and three children, Zachary Thomas George of Pittsburgh and Michael Thomas George and Sara Rose George, both at home.
Also surviving are his mother, Dolores George of Bentleyville; two brothers, Randy George (Mary) and Scott George, both of Waynesburg; a sister, Debbie Kendra of Monongahela; two nieces, Amber and Alina; three nephews, Jonathan, Cory and Matthew; a great-nephew, Hayden; two great-nieces, Laurel and Morgan; and former wife Joyce Los Riggs of Washington.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are his maternal grandmother, Rose Vonsik Rusilko Pardinas, and paternal grandparents Rocco and Sarah Perkins George.
