William Thomas “Tom” Perkins II, 57, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness in Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, W.Va., Friday, May 10, 2013.

He was an avid Steelers fan and car racing enthusiast. He enjoyed life and was willing to help anyone in need. He was instrumental in organizing the Dave Hook Memorial Fund.

He was employed at UBS Axcera in Canonsburg, as an assembly technician for the past eight years.

Surviving are his parents, William Thomas and Wanda Lee Thompson Perkins.

Also surviving are three sisters, Linda (Perkins) Daniels of Lyons, Colo., Rachel Perkins and Holly Perkins DiVecchio, both of Burgettstown; a brother, Daniel Perkins of Macungie; 10 nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and great-nephew.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, May 14. Burial will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Burgettstown. A repast luncheon will follow in Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Department, Paris.
