Alverda Roach

Alverda Roach, 91, of Washington, died Monday, May 13, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

She was born March 25, 1922, in Grafton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Carl and Reatha Isner Adams.

Mrs. Roach was a member of First Lutheran Church, Washington.

She graduated from Washington High School.

Mrs. Roach worked for Sears & Roebuck and Loblaw’s.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are her husband, Robert Roach, who died in 1976; a daughter, Rita Hazlett; and two grandsons, Donald “Scamp” Hazlett and Brent Hazlett.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Thursday, May 16, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Kenneth Schott officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
