Gertrude Butti, 91, of Bentleyville, formerly of Monongahela, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in The New Dawn, Thorpe’s Personal Care Home, Charleroi.

She was born November 4, 1921, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late John A. and Anna Vargo Polaski.

From 1962 until 1986, she and her family resided in New Jersey. She was employed by Westinghouse in Metuchen, N.J.. for more than 13 years and then worked for a few years at East Side Lighting Co. in Linden.

Mrs. Butti was a former member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela and was a member of Ave Maria Parish in Bentleyville, at the time of her death.

She enjoyed bingo, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Babirad of Bentleyville; grandsons Christopher, Jeffrey and James Babirad; granddaughters Stacy Morgan and Heather Gonglik; great-grandsons Ryan, Alex and Noah Babirad and Bodie Morgan; and great-granddaughters Amber Morgan, Katie Babirad, Sydney and Makayla Rae Gonglik and Jocelyn and Alexa Babirad.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Elmer P. Butti, who died September 9, 2000; a sister, Sister Margaret Loretta Polaski; and four brothers, John, William and Rudolph Polaski and Edward Polaski, who died in infancy.

Private services and interment were held Monday, May 20, in St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating. Condolences may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
