Walter R. “Kane” “Putsy” Bilitski, 83, of Roscoe, died Sunday, May 19, 2013.

He was born Monday, April 14, 1930, in Roscoe, a son of the late Walter R. Bilitski Sr. and Mary Svec Bilitski.

Mr. Bilitski was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, where he worked for 44 years in the shipping department.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 60 years, Ina Barber Bilitski; and five adoring children, W.A. “Tony” Bilitski, Joseph A. Bilitski, Pamela Neishloss and husband Carl, Rebecca Philipkosky and husband Tom, Amy Helmick and husband Eric and Mary Beth Bilitski.

Also surviving are 13 dearly loved and precious grandchildren, Sarah Shinsky and husband Jordan, Andrew, Marijo, Amanda, Ryan, Emma, Carly, Katie, Gregory, Megan, Abigail, Olivia and Ina Marie; two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Lana; a sister, Velma Hollick; and many nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariscotti Funeral Home Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California.

Gertrude Butti, 91, of Bentleyville, formerly of Monongahela, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in The New Dawn, Thorpe’s Personal Care Home, Charleroi.

She was born November 4, 1921, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late John A. and Anna Vargo Polaski.

From 1962 until 1986, she and her family resided in New Jersey. She was employed by Westinghouse in Metuchen, N.J.. for more than 13 years and then worked for a few years at East Side Lighting Co. in Linden.

Mrs. Butti was a former member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela and was a member of Ave Maria Parish in Bentleyville, at the time of her death.

She enjoyed bingo, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Babirad of Bentleyville; grandsons Christopher, Jeffrey and James Babirad; granddaughters Stacy Morgan and Heather Gonglik; great-grandsons Ryan, Alex and Noah Babirad and Bodie Morgan; and great-granddaughters Amber Morgan, Katie Babirad, Sydney and Makayla Rae Gonglik and Jocelyn and Alexa Babirad.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Elmer P. Butti, who died September 9, 2000; a sister, Sister Margaret Loretta Polaski; and four brothers, John, William and Rudolph Polaski and Edward Polaski, who died in infancy.

Private services and interment were held Monday, May 20, in St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating. Condolences may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.

William C. Camp, 90, of Peters Township, died Sunday, May 19, 2013.

He was born January 14, 1923, a son of the late Quinto and Anne Compagnucci Camp.

Mr. Camp was the beloved husband for 55 years to the late Betty Camp; loving father of Sally (George) Schmidt, John (Marcy) Camp, Robert Camp and the late Patrick Camp; grandfather of Stephanie, Wendy, John Jr. and Gia; great-grandfather of Robert, Hannah and Johnny Christopher; brother of the late Andrew, Robert and Samuel Camp; and uncle of Andrew Camp Jr. and Bobbi.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific theaters.

Gordon Tevis Curry, 76, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life early Saturday morning, May 18, 2013, in his home, with his loving wife by his side. He had a progressive health condition and was under the care of Mountain Hospice.

He was born Saturday, May 1, 1937, in Horning, a son of Mary Philiphant Curry and Ezekiel Curry.

Mr. Curry was a graduate of South Park High School and later moved to Waynesburg, where he attended classes at Waynesburg University.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Phyllis A. Wison Curry, whom he married April 21, 1992, in Virginia Beach, Va.

Mr. Curry served with the Army Reserves for six years.

He worked for Alltel Pennsylvania Telephone Co. in Waynesburg and was transferred to another division of the same telephone company in 1994, which was located in Mill Creek. There he worked for the Mountain State Telephone Co., which is now known as Frontier Communications. He retired from the phone company in January 1998 with a total of 30 years of service. After retirement from the telephone company, he worked with Women’s Aid in Crisis in Elkins, W.Va. He spent five enjoyable years with them until poor health required that he retire for the second time in 2009. He loved working there and they treated him with much love and respect.

In earlier days, he had been an avid hunter and in later years, he enjoyed shooting with his camera rather than with a gun. He was an active member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Elkins, where he held offices of head deacon and elder for numerous years. He loved God and he loved spending time with his church family. He and his wife, Phyllis, enjoyed camping and sometimes just sitting on their back porch looking at the mountains. He loved all kinds of animals, but was especially fond of horses, which he owned for the biggest part of his life.

Surviving are his mother, Mary P. Curry of Waynesburg; three children, Gordon T. Curry II and wife Connie of Wind Ridge, Brian E. Curry and wife Missy of Finleyville and Elizabeth A. Smith and husband Justin of Crescent; a granddaughter, Kara Curry; three stepchildren, Beverly Grimes and husband Bill, Mark J. Hodak and wife Kelley of Worthington and Sherri L. Talton of Vandergrift; 10 stepgrandchildren, Ondrea Cecil Craft, Jordan Watson, Garrett and Colton Hodak, Alex McMillan, Jordan Davis, Amanda Hodak and Trejon, Tiara and Deja Talton; a much loved sister-in-law Karen Boarts; a niece, Wendy Boarts; and nephew, Alan Boarts and wife Janet.

Mr. Curry was previously married to the former Thelma Jean Thomas and Susan Lemley, who also survive.

At the request of the deceased, cremation will be honored and a memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in Seventh Day Adventist Church, Elkins, with Pastor Don Jacko officiating.

Jean C. Shick Whyel, 78, of Greensboro, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.

She was born Tuesday, April 16, 1935, in Potter County, a daughter of the late Edgar Shick and Erma Lucore Shick.

Mrs. Whyel was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, walking and singing in the church choir. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters, Deadra (Kenneth) Kidd and Pam (Kevin) Long, both of Morgantown, W.Va.; four sons, William (Joy) Whyel of Lakewood, Ohio, Donald Lee (Virginia) Whyel of Taylorstown, Earston (Donna) Whyel of Greensboro and Mark Whyel and companion Tonja of Cleveland, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Dorothy Weimer of McClellandtown; two brothers, Clair Shick of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Thomas Shick of McClellandtown; and several nieces and nephews.
