Edna Mae Aloia
Edna Mae Aloia, 82, of Chartiers Township, Washington, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, after an illness of several years.
She was born May 27, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of the late Wray A. and Dessie Pearl Stookey Chambers.
Mrs. Aloia was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School and was a homemaker.
She was a very active charter and lifetime member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church.
Mrs. Aloia’s many activities included baby-sitting, camping, music, winter travels to warm climates, dancing and line dancing. She was a great cook and baker. She attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed hosting visitors in her home.
On February 12, 1950, she married Dominic “Mickey” Aloia, who died January 18, 2010.
Surviving are a son, Terry Aloia of Washington; three daughters, Janet (Terry) Houston, Jeannie (Terry) Allison and Bette Jo (Jerry) Puskarich, all of Washington; a sister, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Sekorky of Washington; nine grandchildren, Zach (Laura) Houston, Laken (Beau) Kobrys, Megan Houston, Preston Allison, Hollan Puskarich, Devin Aloia, Amanda Puskarich, Morgan Puskarich and Camden Dominic Allison; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Jim Chambers; a sister, Marie Sutton; a brother, Tom Chambers; an infant sister, Margaret Jean Chambers; and a brother, Bill Chambers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, with Pastor Michael Lehman officiating. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
