Aleppo Brethren Church member enjoyed quilting
Clara Ethel Welling Keenan, 95, of Wind Ridge (McCracken), died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, after being in failing health for the past several years.
She was born February 25, 1918, in Littleton, W.Va., a daughter of the late James Richard and Della Gorby Ward.
Mrs. Keenan was a member of Aleppo Brethren Church and had attended Crabapple Community Church.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening and raising flowers.
In 1934, she married Harry Welling, who died December 12, 1969. She later married Raymond Keenan, who died in September 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Harriett Welling, with whom she shared her home, and Mary Ann, wife of Bob Postlethwaite, both of Wind Ridge (McCracken); two sons, Ben, husband of Lonna Welling of Cameron, W.Va., and Harold, husband of Phyllis Welling of Graysville; eight grandchildren, Roberta Harrington, Jason, Wayne, Richard and Aaron Welling, Amy Hartman, Bobby Postlethwaite and Tracee Hardbaugh; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Irene Whipkey of Moundsville, W.Va.; and a brother, James Francis Ward of Indiana.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and both husbands, are a son, Kenneth Eugene Welling, and four sisters, Agnes Franty, Betha King, Mary Rohm and Wanda Burgess.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, with Pastor James H. Jarvis officiating.
