Jeannette R. Kearns, 76, of Bulger, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, in her home.

She was born September 11, 1936, in Pulaski, a daughter of the late David and Irma May Bixler Dagan.

Mrs. Kearns was a homemaker and mother and enjoyed gardening and cooking. During her life, at times, she worked as a cook for Tonidale, Cedar House, Town House and Fini’s Restaurant.

She was a longtime member of Raccoon Presbyterian Church, Candor, and more recently attended Robinson Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Kearns was a member of Burgettstown Senior Citizens and was a teacher for 4-H. She volunteered in the community and was a supporter of the American Red Cross.

She is predeceased by her husband, George F. Kearns, who died September 20, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters, Randa Kearns of Oakdale, Penny (John) Zielinski of Castle Shannon and Gwen (John) McCallister of Oakdale; a son, George F. (Charity) Kearns Jr. of Cecil; seven grandchildren, George Aten Jr., Natalie Perko, Leaha Morrida, Jacob and Kelsey McCallister, Iann Kearns and Ryan Fluharty; and a great-grandson, Roman Markovich.

Deceased are two brothers, David and Timothy Dagan, and a sister, Agnes Getty.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29.
