David A. Dzikowski
Devoted husband, father and grandfather
David A. Dzikowski, 72, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in his home.
He was born January 30, 1941, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Anthony John “Andy” and Helen C. Kostar Dzikowski.
Mr. Dzikowski was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, Class of 1960. He lived in the Canonsburg and Washington areas his entire life, where he was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He had been, at one time, a Canon-McMillan school director and, prior to his retirement, was a furniture finisher at the former Fort Pitt Fixtures.
Mr. Dzikowski was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an automobile enthusiast who loved working with his classic cars.
On October 8, 1966, he married Donna Jean Perry, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David (Stacy) Dzikowski of Canonsburg and Daniel (Christina) Dzikowski of Washington; two grandchildren, Josephine Danielle and Lucas Jude Dzikowski; brother Wayne (Kathy) Dzikowski of Avella; mother-in-law Marjorie Perry of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Eleanor Buyan, and a nephew, Gary Buyan.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 3. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, followed by interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
