Former owner of Frank Blumer Cleaning Co.

Frank Blumer, 83, of Washington, died February 8, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born September 9, 1929, in Washington, a son of William and Mary Lipp Sisul Blumer.

Mr. Blumer owned and operated Frank Blumer Cleaning Co. in Washington for many years. He later worked as an investigator with Washington County Domestic Relations for 20 years. For several years, he also served as maintenance supervisor for Immaculate Conception Church.

For 24 years, he served as a North Franklin Township supervisor, holding the posts of board chairman and roadmaster.

He was an active outdoorsman and enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his garden, especially giving away the fresh vegetables to his friends.

Mr. Blumer was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and, at one time, served as an usher and actively volunteered at the annual church festivals.

On January 22, 1951, he married Martha Tichnel, who died December 25, 2009.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Richards of Washington, and sons Frank Blumer of Edinboro and Eric Blumer of Plain City, Ohio.

Deceased, in addition to his wife, are nine brothers, Col. Michael, Steve, Master Sgt. John, Joseph, Rudy, Matthew and George Sisul and Paul and Nick Blumer; and two sisters, Helen Paige and Ann Beckman.

At the request of the deceased, there was no visitation.

Joseph O. Budkey, 82, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, May 30, 2013.

Arrangements are incomplete and entrusted to Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., Canonsburg.

Enjoyed gardening, hunting and nature

Bradley E. Coyle, 56, of Amwell Township, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in his home, surrounded by family and friends, after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 19, 1956, in Washington, a son of Wilbur Edwin “Bill” and Kathryn Booth Coyle.

Mr. Coyle was baptized United Methodist.

He graduated from Bentworth High School and Washington & Jefferson College, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.

His career as an accountant spanned 27 years with Ametek Specialty Metals. He later worked in the gas and oil industry with Elite Oilfield Services as transportation manager. He retired in February.

Mr. Coyle enjoyed planting trees, gardening, hunting, nature and campfires with his family.

On June 9, 1979, in Claysville, he married Deloris Ann “Dee” Wilhelm. Mrs. Coyle survives.

Also surviving are a son, Todd Edwin Coyle of Washington; a daughter, Tami Coyle (Justin) Wood of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; three sisters, Nancy (John) Cale of Scott Depot, W.Va., Janet (George) Gondak of Bentleyville and Norma (John) Hudock of Eighty Four.

Deceased are his parents and a brother, David Coyle.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, with John Cale officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.

Joshua Ruben Davis II, infant son of Joshua Ruben and Dawn M. Loar Davis, was born and died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandmother, Mary Reid; paternal grandparents Kevin and Cora Lee Patterson Mounts, all of Claysville; paternal stepgreat-grandmother Sarah Mounts of Claysville; paternal great-grandparents Ray and Mary Vanderhoof Patterson of Moundsville, W.Va.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Deceased are his paternal grandfather, John Orville Davis Jr.; maternal grandfather David Loar; maternal stepgrandfather Steve Reid; and maternal great-grandparents Frank and Jelemma Wise McDonnell.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at noon Saturday, June 1, in First Baptist Church, Claysville, with Pastor James Sevon Jr. and Uncle Brian Davis co-officiating. Devoted husband, father and grandfather

David A. Dzikowski, 72, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in his home.

He was born January 30, 1941, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Anthony John “Andy” and Helen C. Kostar Dzikowski.

Mr. Dzikowski was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, Class of 1960. He lived in the Canonsburg and Washington areas his entire life, where he was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He had been, at one time, a Canon-McMillan school director and, prior to his retirement, was a furniture finisher at the former Fort Pitt Fixtures.

Mr. Dzikowski was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an automobile enthusiast who loved working with his classic cars.

On October 8, 1966, he married Donna Jean Perry, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David (Stacy) Dzikowski of Canonsburg and Daniel (Christina) Dzikowski of Washington; two grandchildren, Josephine Danielle and Lucas Jude Dzikowski; brother Wayne (Kathy) Dzikowski of Avella; mother-in-law Marjorie Perry of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Eleanor Buyan, and a nephew, Gary Buyan.

Lifelong Washington County resident

Boyd R. Frazee, 85, of Washington, went home to his Lord Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

He was born October 31, 1927, in Lone Pine, a son of Dee Sr. and Mae Cain Frazee.

Mr. Frazee was a lifelong Washington County resident and a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church.

He was an all-star football player at Trinity High School and was awarded a full scholarship to Washington & Jefferson College, but he elected to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Marines.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Drakenfeld for 40 years.

Mr. Frazee liked to golf and bowl. He was a life member of Elks Lodge 776 and a member of American Legion Post 175.

On July 22, 1950, he married Clara Jean Gorby, who survives. She was the love of his life, and he proudly told everyone they were married for 62 years.

Also surviving are his nephew, Rick McFeely and wife Marlene and niece Kathy McFeely, who were dedicated to his loving care; sisters-in-law Lois “Honey” wife of Robert Moore, and Ruth Walker; brother-in-law Dick McFeely; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are brothers Franklin, who died in infancy, Freeman, Dee Frazee Jr., Harry and Leland and sisters Evelyn Rock and Doris McFeely.

Member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church

Helen A. Horwatt, 96, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Manor Care of Peters Township.

She was born March 21, 1917, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Wasyl and Julia Balash Stanko.

Mrs. Horwatt lived her entire life in Canonsburg and was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where she helped with many church functions.

In her early years, she worked for the former Continental Can and with her husband in the shipyards.

Mrs. Horwatt was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, especially during the holidays.

She had been a member of the former Rosary Society and choir at St. Michael’s.

On July 30, 1940, she married Frank T. Horwatt, who passed away August 10, 1991.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, C. deRicci Horwatt of Canonsburg; granddaughter deRicci T. (Joshua) Horwatt-Getty of Canonsburg; a sister, Julia Rock, and a brother, William Stanko, both of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, F. Theodore Horwatt, who passed away Sunday, October 22, 2005; four brothers, John, Steve, Michael and Nicholas “Chike” Stanko; and three sisters, Mary McCensky, Anna Addis and Sophia Mandus.

Retired Clinton trucker served during WWII

Leo “Silver Dollar” Nadik Sr., 92, of Clinton, Hanover Township, died Monday afternoon, May 27, 2013, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.

Born February 24, 1921, in McKees Rocks, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna Guzik Nadik.

Mr. Nadik was a retired self-employed trucker and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church of McKees Rocks, where he also served as an usher and was on the finance committee.

Mr. Nadik was an avid farmer and had a love for animals.

In addition to his parents, deceased are a son, Michael Nadik, who died in 1969; a grandson, William Nilon III, in 1991; a brother, Nick Nadik; and a brother-in-law, Tony Java.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 71 years, Gladys Engle Nadik, whom he wed November 14, 1941; his children and their spouses, Leo Jr. and Linda Nadik of Raccoon Township and James and Sherry Nadik, Elaine and William Nilon Jr., Barbara and John Thomas Kowcheck, Jean and Herb Roessler and Larry and Diane Nadik, all of Clinton; his sister, Helen Java of Florida; his sister-in-law, Gertrude Nadik of Imperial; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, in Moody Funeral Home, Route 30, Clinton, and then process at 10:15 a.m. to Hebron Presbyterian Church, Clinton, where his service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cinda Isler will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hopewell Hebron Cemetery.

Members of Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in Hopewell Hebron Cemetery to conduct military honors.

Enjoyed yard work and bird-watching

Frances Louise Olesky, 96, of Washington, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was born June 20, 1916, in Meadow Lands, a daughter of Frank and Eva Navatowski Piszczek.

Mrs. Olesky was an inspector for Metro Glass/Ball Glass.

She was Catholic and enjoyed working in her yard and watching birds.

In 1939, she married Walter J. Olesky, who, along with all of her siblings, is deceased.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Martha Jean “Jeannie” Provance, 74, of Washington, died Friday, May 24, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was born February 21, 1939, a daughter of Randle A. and Ethel Mae Iams Glendenning.

Mrs. Provance was a homemaker who enjoyed bingo and playing slot machines at the casino.

On October 9, 1957, she married Charles E. Provance, who died May 6, 2002.

Surviving are two sons, Darrell E. (Christine) Provance and Erick C. (Debbie) Provance, both of Washington; a daughter, Dawn Ann (John) Wright of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, John N. Glendenning, James A. Glendenning and Harry O. (Bonnie) Glendenning; four sisters, Leona Zitkovich, Ethel (Red) Molinaro, Katherine Plants and Geraldine Prye; nine grandchildren, Justin, Chasity, Amber, Joelle, Jalea, Jessica, Alycia, Erica and Josh; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Randle Glendenning Jr. and Dave Glendenning, and a sister, Anna Marie Fulton.

1922 – 2013

Her Lord, Jesus Christ, claimed one of his angels, Lois “Fappy” Williams, Sunday, May 26, 2013.

She was born March 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Mary Etta Brown and William Burns Grant.

A sister, Violet Ellis of Bridgeville, survives.

Deceased are three brothers and three sisters.

She was known as “Fappy” or “Auntie” to family and friends. She always had a broad smile and a generous heart and will be deeply missed by three generations of nieces and nephews. For the past 15 years, she had lived with her niece in Maryland, and her homecoming will be in her hometown of Burgettstown.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, officiated by the Rev. Jackie LaRue in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Paris. Family and friends are welcome to the fellowship luncheon to follow.
