Canonsburg man had passion for oil painting

Joseph O. Budkey, 82, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.

He was born November 23, 1930, in Canonsburg, a son of William and Anna Homerosky Budkey.

Mr. Budkey was Catholic.

Prior to his retirement, he worked at Pittsburgh Metal Lithographing, National Can Corp. and McGraw Edison.

He enjoyed fishing, golf, hockey, watching sports, especially baseball, and had a passion for oil painting.

Surviving are his sisters, Constance Matrogran of Canonsburg, Doris Devich and husband Don of Beaver and Margaret “Peggy” Tornabene of Fairmont, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Budkey Jr., and a sister, Joan Smith.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 2, in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. Services will be private. Please visit www.sollon.com for additional information and to view and leave condolences.
