Former riverboat deckhand, roofing laborer
Timothy W. Ankrom, 59, of Sycamore, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, in his home, after being in failing health for the past five years.
He was born December 13, 1953, a son of the late Willard Ray and Wilma Jean Hartzell Ankrom, and had resided in Morris Township, Greene County, since 1987.
Mr. Ankrom enjoyed hunting and fishing as long as his health permitted and spending time with his family and pet dog, “Lucky.”
He was a former deckhand on a riverboat and had spent several years as a roofing laborer in general construction.
On February 14, 1998, he married his longtime companion, Brenda Lee Willy, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Nicole Lynn and Kayla Michele Ankrom, both at home; two brothers, William, husband of Barbara Ankrom of Jefferson, and Terry, husband of Tina Ankrom of Streetsboro, Ohio; three sisters, Bonnie Egger of Cecil, Kimberly Price of Clarksville and Darlene, wife of Bill Bates of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Robert D. Ankrom, and a sister, Marlene Lough.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited from 11 a.m. to noon, the time of a memorial service, Tuesday, June 4, in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, with Pastor Connie Loughman officiating.
