U.S. Navy veteran served in Korean War
William E. Simpson Jr., 83, of Bridgeville, was born June 29, 1929, in Houston, and died Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
He was a son of William and Helen McCarl Simpson; beloved husband of Elaine “Tootsie” Morris Simpson; loving father of Bruce G. (Lisa) Simpson, Scott W. (Nancy) Simpson and Rebecca (Rick) Condo; grandfather of Kelly (Brian) Fritz, Sara, Juliana and Melissa Simpson, Alaina Condo, Allison Simpson, Natalie and Nicholas Condo and Scott Simpson Jr.; and a brother of Barbara Snarey and the late Norman Simpson. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Simpson was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Bridgeville American Legion Post 54 for 57 years. He was an avid bowler and golfer and was a social member of Muse Independent Club.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3.
