Stephen L. Monyak, 74, of Clearwater Drive, Ellwood City, died Friday, November 1, 2013, in UPMC-Passavant hospital, Pittsburgh, following a short illness.
Born May 1, 1939, in Manhattan, N.Y., he was a son of the late Stephen and Theresa Bodzer Monyak.
He was married to Mary Patricia “Pat” Hattman Monyak, who survives.
Mr. Monyak retired from UPMC-Hamot hospital in Erie, following a long career as a respiratory therapist in many different hospitals.
Surviving are a daughter, Stephanie L. Monyak of Washington; three sisters, Joanne Pipp of McKeesport, Theresa Southerin of Atlanta, Ga., and Linda Goosby of Pittsburgh; and two brothers, Joseph Chambers of North Charleston, S.C. and Ken Chambers of Beaver Falls.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, John Monyak.
Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday, November 4, in Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Avenue, Ellwood City, with his cousin, Pastor Robert Pollick, officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, McKees Rocks.
