Enjoyed painting, poetry
Kristina M. Andreolli, 41, of Meadow Lands, died unexpectedly, Friday, November 1, 2013, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born February 16, 1972, in Heidelberg, Germany, a daughter of James and Lynn Spalla Stubenbordt of Houston.
Mrs. Andreolli was a 1990 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.
She was a certified nursing assistant and was employed at McMurray Hills Manor.
Mrs. Andreolli enjoyed painting, poetry, her three dogs, Boomer, Bear and Dexter, and her two cats, Teensy and Weensy.
On November 19, 1999, she married Anthony Andreolli, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Jamie Shaner (Josh) of Canonsburg; a brother, Paul Stubenbordt (Jenn) of Meadow Lands; paternal grandmother Ethel Stubenbordt of Andover, Ohio; brother-in-law Michael Andreolli (Michelle) of Canonsburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are paternal grandfather James Stubenbordt; maternal grandparents Henry and Elsie Spalla; and aunt Tina Spalla.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. Partner in Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse
Anthony Bologna, 77, of McMurray, surrounded by many loving family and friends, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013.
He was a son of the late Gesidio and Assunta Tulle Bologna.
Mr. Bologna was the beloved husband of Mary Hess Bologna; loving father of Anthony Bologna Jr. of Aurora, Ohio, Vicki and husband Sam LoPresti of Jefferson Hills and the late Matthew Bologna; dear brother of Vincent Bologna of Colliers, W.Va., Louis Bologna of Akron, Ohio, Ray Bologna of Moon Township and the late Joseph Bologna and Rose Marie Friday; and cherished brother-in-law of Linda Scalise of Erie, Connie Shelby of Houston, Texas, and Susan Baux of Pittsburgh.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was the owner of Bologna Ford in Burgettstown and ventured into various aspects of the coal and energy industries. He was a longtime employee of Bologna Coal Co. and a partner in Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse. He was also known as “The Wine Master.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 4, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. U.S. Air Force vet
John Dzura, 94, of Meadow Lands, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
He was born March 31, 1919, in Pittsburgh, a son of John and Eva Kranyak Dzura.
Mr. Dzura was a graduate of Taylor-Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Force as a crew chief on B-17s in North Africa.
Mr. Dzura was a heavy equipment and truck mechanic. With his brother-in-law, Sonny Knish, they owned and operated K and D Garage in Washington
He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg, Washington Elks Lodge 776, American Legion Post 175 in Washington and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg. He was a life member of Golf Club of Washington and was a former member of Rostraver Aviation Club.
Mr. Dzura enjoyed dancing, golfing, Pittsburgh Pirates, the Steelers and telling stories.
On August 14, 1941, he married Julia Knish, who died February 2, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Jack Dzura (Vernie) of Meadow Lands; three grandchildren, Andrew Dzura of Pittsburgh, Katie Dzura of Canonsburg and Mary Postlewaite (Derek) of Meadow Lands; four great-grandchildren, Mia, Nevaoh, Tom and Camille; a sister, Sister M. Martha Dzura of Mt. Saint Macrina, Uniontown; a special friend, Freda Rhodes of Bridgeport, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Michael Dzura.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Canonsburg, with the Rev. Joseph Jugan, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. A panachida service will be held a 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Full military honors will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion Post 902, combined honor guard.

1939-2013
Bruno W. Franks, 92, of Scenery Hill, died Friday, November 1, 2013.
He was born January 8, 1921, a son of the late Aldo and Estenia Vanelia Franks.
Mr. Franks was a 1939 graduate of Trinity High School.
He worked for Bethlehem Mines Corporation Mine 60 on the tipple. He was a self-employed painter, and he painted many homes and barns in the area. He was also self-employed as a TV and radio repairman.
Mr. Franks enjoyed cutting grass and working in his yard.
He was a life member of Cokeburg Moose and Bentleyville Eagles.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 4. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.

Union laborer, enjoyed hunting
Boyd “Harv” Miller, 45, of Wind Ridge, died at 8:38 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., from injuries he received in an automobile accident.
He was born Tuesday, February 27, 1968, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Donald Ray Miller and Donna Riley Bonar of Cameron, W.Va.
Mr. Miller was a member of Cameron Moose Lodge and Labors Union 1149 of Wheeling, W.Va., before a recent transfer to the Labors Union 1058 of Pittsburgh.
He enjoyed hunting, riding four wheelers and cutting wood. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Miller worked construction as a union laborer out of Labor Union Hall 1149 in Wheeling, W.Va.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristin Miller-Sosnak and husband Joshua of Cameron and Cheyenne Miller of Wind Ridge; two grandchildren, Marissa Sosnak and Isaac Sosnak; three sisters, Twyla Mathews of Cameron, Tracy Crawford of Jollytown and Teresa Carroll of Wind Ridge; three brothers, Weston Miller of Aleppo, Dale Miller of New Freeport and Lonnie Miller of Wind Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, with Pastor Phil Campbell Jr. officiating. Served in Army, enjoyed traveling
Andrew Michael Petrus, resident of Grants Pass, Ore., died Saturday, October 5, 2013, in Highland House Nursing Home, due to complications associated with pneumonia.
He was born on December 19, 1920, in Slovan, a son of the late John Petrus and Mary Petkovich.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are sisters Mary Pozniko and Emma Marie Dorhow.
Mr. Petrus leaves behind his beloved wife, Lois, and many extended family members and friends around the United States.
He grew up in Slovan and was a 1940 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown.
Mr. Petrus bravely served his country in the U.S. Army from September 15, 1942 to June 13, 1946. He served in the 17th Infantry and participated in several campaigns. His most difficult battle was waged in the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska in May, 1943. He was featured in two documentary films that appeared on PBS and were viewed at film festivals around the world. These titles are “Aleutians: Cradle of the Storm,” released in 2002, and “Red, White, Black & Blue,” released in 2006. He was interviewed several times by The Daily Courier in Grants Pass and for the World War II Museum in New Orleans, La. His other campaigns were fought in the Marshall Islands, Leyte Gulf and Okinawa. He was awarded four campaign medals, Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star on August 2, 1957 for “Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against the Enemy,” and Pacific Theater Operations, during the Aleutian Islands Campaign. He was a passionate soldier and served his country proudly. He was always ready to share his experiences with anyone who cared to listen. He and his fellow soldiers were instrumental in having a war memorial placed for the little known “Battle of Attu.” With the help of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed at Loran, the plaque was delivered, put in place and dedicated in June, 2001.
After his honorable discharge in 1946, he returned to Detroit, Mich., and continued his career with the City of Detroit. He began as a street car operator and finally retired as a senior health inspector.
In 1950, he met the love of his life and soul mate, Lillie Lois Gibson. After a five year courtship, they were married September 15, 1955, in Angola, Ind. They recently celebrated their 58th anniversary. They spent many wonderful years together, traveling, fishing and bowling. He was an avid bowler, participating in several leagues at a time. He was still bowling at the age of 92. His wife continues to bowl twice a week at the age of 88.
After he retired in 1976, he and his wife moved to California for a few years t while deciding where they wanted to settle. His wife’s brother invited them to beautiful southern Oregon and they immediately were smitten by the great weather and lovely surroundings. They have lived in Grants Pass since 1979.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 4, in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown, where full militery rights will be accorded by Slovan-Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Avid Steelers fan
Helen M. Rostosky, 82, of Monongahela, died Friday, November 1, 2013, in her home.
She was born May 17, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Andrew and Ann Majchrycz.
Mrs. Rostosky enjoyed baking, canning, cooking, crocheting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
She spent her life taking care of everyone and was the most wonderful mother and grandmother.
Surviving are a son, Peter Rostosky and wife Connie of McMurray; a daughter, Sandy Bylicki and husband Jeff of Monongahela; five grandchildren, Sgt. Christopher Cullen and wife Amy, Kimberly Cullen Dufault and husband Darin, Lydia and Luke Rostosky and Kyle Bylicki.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Joseph Rostosky, who died March 5, 2005; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Cullen, who died October 18, 2001; a son-in-law, Lt. Commander Thomas Bruce Cullen, who died March 22, 2013; and a brother, John Majchrycz.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of service, Monday, November 4, in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, with the Rev. Jeffrey Winters officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.

Homemaker, loving mother and grandmother
Mary Donati Tepsic, 93, a lifelong resident of Burgettstown, passed away Friday morning, November 1, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born May 15, 1920, in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late Antonio and Madelyna Pandolfi Donati.
A graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, Mrs. Tepsic was a homemaker.
Her husband, Rudy Tepsic, whom she married in 1939, passed away October 27, 2003.
Surviving are two sons, James Tepsic and wife Bonita of Burgettstown and Paul Tepsic and wife Clara of Burgettstown; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Tepsic and wife Jodi, Dayna Gobleck and husband Mickey, David Tepsic and wife Tammi and Mandy Cooke and husband Chris; nine great-grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Ayla and Alyssa Gobleck, Max and Paige Tepsic, Tyler Cooke and Bryttney and Alexis Koffler; and a sister, Margaret Froats of Burgettstown.
Deceased, in addtion to her parents and husband, are two sisters, Virginia Madison and Kathryn Carroll, and six brothers, John, Matt, August, Bill, Jim and Art Donati.

Patricia C. Thistlethwaite, 78, of Waynesburg, died Friday, November 1, 2013, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 6, 1935, in Cumberland Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Clyde C. and Ethel Green Clark.
She was a 1953 graduate of Cumberland Township High School.
On May 24, 1954, she married John D. Thistlethwaite, who died October 8, 2005.
Mrs. Thistlethwaite was a homemaker and dairy farmer. She enjoyed her family, spending time outdoors and jigsaw puzzles.
She was a member of Church of Christ in Paisley.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Rerko (Andrew) of Monroeville and Pamela Moon of Monessen; a son, David W. Thistlethwaite (Tammy) of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren, Megan and Kelly Rerko, Nathanael and Ethan Moon, Angela Brozik, and Cortney and Kasey Thistlethwaite; a great-grandson, Levi Brozik; and a sister, Lorena Ciez of Uniontown.
Deceased are five sisters, Elnora Weaver, Velma Helsley, Arlene Donham, Jeanette Renner and Doris Rinehart; and five brothers, Harold, Stanley, Frederick, Larry and Ronald Clark.

Donna Sue Wildman, 57, of Jefferson Hills, died Friday, November 1, 2013.
She was born April 12, 1956, in Washington, a twin daughter of Donald Albert Seibel and Reita Imogene Morton Seibel.
Mrs. Wildman was a 1974 graduate of McGuffey High School and a 1975 graduate of Penn Commercial.
She was a member and treasurer of Jefferson United Presbyterian Church for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Wildman loved bowling, golf, crocheting, soccer, being a football mom, game shows and technology.
She was a records management administrator for West Jefferson Hills School District.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her twin sister, Mona Richey and a brother, Donald Lee Seibel.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Douglas P. Wildman; three sons, Joshua (Jessica) Wildman of Pleasant Hills, Shawn Wildman of Hollywood, Fla., and Trevor Wildman of Jefferson Hills; a sister, Marlyn Dorsey; and two brothers, Byron and Gerald Seibel.
